Foundation patching
For repairing a rug with a main rip and large hole, first the foundation had to be built on to the ruined part of the rug and must be patching to constant parts. Mostly cotton uses for Persian rugs warp and weft. Then the damaged part re-woven on new built foundation with existing patterns. Using fibers for pile can be wool or silk with similar colored and proportionate quality.
Re-weaving
The rugs can be damaged due to rotting, corrosion, friction, cigarette fire, moth or water, but no matter how badly your rug is damaged it is possible to have it restored. I can restore wear and tear parts as well as reweave the holes. Whenever a hole has to be small, it can be inspired by a map of symmetrical, but if the damaged part is large, we must first draw a map and then perform the reweaving. During restoration it should be noted that the used fibers and materials are exactly the same color and quality as the original.
Two knotting to roots
Two knotting on carpet fringes is the most frequently performed which complete carpet weaving, with the choice of high strengths of the handmade carpet roots and to prevent overlapping and over spraying. selvedges reinforcement
If the selvedge of your rug also known as the side binding is damaged or often become loose which encourages the rug to be damaged with time. Selvedge can easily be fixed but soon become a significant issue. The longer the problem is left the more damage is done and the more expensive it becomes to repair. It can be repair by sewing and twisting a thread of separate yarn, around the lateral threads. This act is called carpet selvedge repair, so it can be repeated several times during the life of the carpet without losing its commercial value.
Low pile repair
Low pile is less likely to be immediate danger but with extreme low pile the foundation becomes exposed and can lead to serious damage to the rug. Low pile does not show age or value of rug, it depends on the environmental conditions and level of use or moth damages; however, it is possible to re-pile and restore. There are some different methods to cover areas of white foundation such as rug back Cobblestone, back hook or re-pile, but choosing the best action, exact match in color or quality of restoration demonstrates the rug repairer qualification.
